It is “disheartening” to see the practise of human sacrifice still being practised: Madras High Court Notifies the Family of an MP Woman and Provides Protection
On Thursday, the Madras High Court stated that it is depressing to observe that human sacrifice is still being practised in the twenty-first century.
A Madhya Pradesh woman who had come to court asking for sufficient police protection and security had her case heard by Judge G Chandrasekharan. The woman claims that her stepmother and other family members are attempting to sacrifice her. She fled her house and travelled to Tamil Nadu after learning of the purported plot.
She has also claimed that her parents are powerful individuals who receive backing from the BJP and the RSS. She claimed that her family had already sacrificed her brother and two additional unidentified people. According to the plea, the woman had escaped to Tamil Nadu with the aid of her companion, who is currently being held against her will by the Bhopal police as a result of the girl’s family’s political power. She also told the court that she does not know where her pals are and that her parents have been threatening them all the time.
She also testified in court that the Madhya Pradesh police are in Chennai and are attempting to “secure” her under the influence of her parents. Hasan Mohammad Jinnah, a senior attorney and state public prosecutor, told the court that the State is ready to provide the woman with the necessary protection and guarantee her safety. In light of the arguments, the court mandated a three-week notice period for the woman’s parents’ returnables. The court ordered the Madhya Pradesh and Tamil Nadu police to provide status updates in the meantime.
